What curriculum does the school follow?

Various branches of Maarif schools offer either the American (using the McGraw Hill books for the core subjects), or British Curriculum (using the Cambridge books for the core subjects) or both. 
K-12 All schools 
- American Curriculum (CCSS and NGSS based).
MRIS/ MKhIS/ MJIS 
- K-8 predominantly American, though the British curriculum is briefly introduced in the intermediate stage.
- Grades 9-12 both the American and the British curricula starting grade 9
FSIS
- Grades K-8 American curriculum
- Grades 9-10 both the British and American curriculum.
- Grades 11-12 only the American curriculum

Are there any specialized programs or extracurricular activities available?

- Specialized programs educational programs for high school such as AP, SAT, Qudrat and Tahsili; and Gifted student programs such as Ibadaa, Mawhiba and Mawhoob 
- Co-curricular activities such as spelling bees, public speaking, math days, science days, Quran recitation and debates
- Extra-curricular activities such as music, sports and community service
In addition to 
- Celebrations such as National Day, Ramadan, Eid Celebrations, Arabic Coffee Day, etc. 
- Trips ranging from field trips to recreational trips, inside and outside KSA

- After-school remediation programs for the struggling students
- ACCEL program for SEN students (in Riyadh Girls Section) 
Ensuring that differentiated instruction and grouping practices are present in the regular classroom for a more inclusive learning environment.

Are there any unique educational approaches or teaching methods used?

All Maarif schools are geared towards 21st-century classrooms, unique educational approaches and teaching methods which include project-based learning, flipped classrooms, peer teaching, gamification, inquiry-based learning, virtual labs, personalized learning, design thinking, collaborative learning, adaptive learning, mindfulness and well-being practices to name but a few. These methods aim to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, personalized instruction, student engagement, and the integration of technology for immersive learning experiences.

How does the school communicate with parents regarding their child's progress and school updates?

The school’s Public Relations Officer together with administrative staff ensures communication with parents and students takes place via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and our LMS (PowerSchool)
Reports are issued twice per year for MAP tests (G1-9) and at the middle and end of each semester for all grades.
One-to-one meetings are available upon request.

Are there any parent-teacher conferences or meetings held regularly?

Parent Teacher Conferences are held once every trimester and according to the Academic Calendar.

How does the school handle bullying or other safety concerns?

Maarif Schools address bullying and safety concerns by implementing clear policies against bullying, providing training on prevention and intervention strategies, promoting a safe and inclusive school climate, conducting regular awareness campaigns, involving school counselors for support and intervention, and promptly addressing incidents through appropriate disciplinary measures and conflict resolution strategies. In addition, the school also organizes workshops, activities and events for students to reduce incidents of bullying. The student counselor and leaders follow a plan to deal with any cases of bullying or any unsafe situation that may arise.

- American Stream:  College Board SATs, PSATs, Advanced Placement AP (Manarat Riyadh) and the Saudi administered Qudrat and Tahseeli (varies from branch to branch).
- ACT and AIST (Arabic Internal Standardized Diagnostic Test) are offered in Manarat Madinah
